LG Thrill 4G Release Date Slides to August 21.

The LG Thrill 4G, also known as the LG Optimus 3D, has been touted as AT&T’s “first dual-core, dual-channel RAM processor” targeted at mobile entertainment fans, particularly those who want a smartphone with a glasses-free 3D touchscreen. Android 2.2.2 Froyo is onboard, running on top of a dual-core, 1.0-GHz Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor. An update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread is allegedly coming up.
The handset also has a 5-megapixel stereoscopic 3D primary camera (i.e., dual-lens) capable of capturing video at 720p HD quality and a 1.3-megapixel front camera for video calls.
Some have speculated that the delay may just be specific to Radio Shack but not for AT&T, which is rumored to release the LG Thrill 4G earlier than Radio Shack’s new release date for it. According to a forum participant who claims to work for an AT&T-owned store, they have received a “rotation device,” which employees use to know more about how the handset works. The forum member said that rotation devices normally arrive a week before product launch. This means–possibly–that the delay is just for Radio Shack. But, then again, don’t take our word for it.
One thing seems to be sure for now: the LG Thrill 4G is coming out this month. Are you thinking of grabbing one?
